"I start early and I stay late, day after day, year after year" “Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can?”
Career
It wasn't an easy journey and still its not an easy journey. One is always looking ahead to better himself and looking for new challenges. The journey started in 2010 after I graduated. All I had was my diploma, theory and practical's I did at school. Still remember the feeling "I was ready to take on the whole world", unfortunately I had to face some huddles to get to where I am. I knocked in so many doors, not many opened for me and I'm grateful for those who opened for me. I'll forever be thankful to those that kept me going and believed in me. It all started at Tshabvuma Primary school in 2010 when my mom asked me to go with her to her work that's when I was offered a job as an IT Technician. I helped with installing, formatting and conducting computer classes. In 2011, I received a call from NYDA offering me a learnership to study to be a loan practitioner which didn't really work out as NYDA never kept their promises. They kept promising us things they never delivered, a chapter I badly wanted to close in my life. In 2012, one call from Titan trade technologies offering me an Internship as an IT Technician at the Department of Health which I gladly accepted. From there on I hustled my way to the top, I was always looking for ways to better myself then they started believing in me. Everyday that passes I started believing and was oozing with confidence. My supervisor offered me an opportunity to work with the web team which I worked for a month or so, after realizing that the isn't much to do I went back to being a technician that when I started attending calls with the Enabling ICT Solutions(Outsourced) guys. We migrated all the user from the old domain to the new domain, did cabling and Networking for Thabazimbi and Mankweng hospitals, then the time for my contract expiration arrived. Luckily Enabling ICT Solution offered me a job as a 1st line support, which I excelled for a month or so then they offered me a promotion to become an IT Technician for the whole Provincial hospital (Polokwane Hospital). At first I didn't believe it but that's how much my help desk manager believed in me. thank God I managed to manage it, it was draining going up and down attending calls, dealing with everything that is IT related but it was a learning experience I will always cherish. it build me for the challenges ahead. I had to learn a lot of things in a short period of time. In October 2013, got a call from Advanced People and Projects to come an attend an interview the following day which I went and passed the interview. Believe me, after the interview I was told I got the job and starting the very same day. I didn't have the logistics, didn't have a place to stay or sleep, didn't have anything other than my CV at hand. I had to adjust very fast and went to training the very same day. Later that day I had to book in a hotel around Midrand so that I can be closer to Sunninghill for training. I managed to come through the 4 days of training, after the training I went to Polokwane to fetch my clothes then relocate to Pretoria. That was it, I'm now a Junior FSE(Field Services Engineer) at Advanced People and Projects together with T-Systems. We had a project to migrate all the Eskom computers from Windows XP to Windows 7, it was fun, I migrated computers from Limpopo Province, Gauteng Province, North West Province, Mpumalanga Province, Free State Province and Kwazulu-natal Province. The third phase of the project I was based in Menlyn Eskom(Pretoria) where we were busy attending calls for all the issues that arise from the migration. We were using Remote Connection to solve the problems for about Four month then after I went to T-System (Ulwazi Building) in Midrand were I was doing first line support for about Two month. I was on a monthly contract, after some consideration I decided to take a break and explore some new challenges. I didn't work for like Three month, staying in Pretoria. That's when I started developing and designing website. I managed to put some few website online but had to put them down as the clients didn't want pay. Learnt a great lesson in this, "never do verbal agreements". In August 2014 I started working for BigTime Strategic Consultants as an IT Technician supporting Bela Bela local municipality. Ten month down the line, I was promoted to my current position which I am a System Administrator. Apart from all this I'm a genuine Web developer.
